If only I didn't need things like food and shelter.

It's my day off!  What better way to spend it than at work?  The boss wrecked his knee last night playing hockey, so guess who got called in to open up the theater.
I suppose that since I was going to be working my other job at the bookstore today it wouldn't have been much of a day off anyway, but it still sucked to have to call in sick again.  Especially since I prefer the smell of old paper to old popcorn.  Maybe if I can drive fast enough from here once my shift's over, I'll still be able to help them close.  Then I can work both jobs on my day off!  I probably just would have wasted it doing laundry or eating or something anyway.
Last week, I found myself taking a late lunch break at the bookstore so that I could come start my shift at the theater, then take an early dinner break and finish my shift at the bookstore (there was no actual lunch or dinner eaten).  It's at times like those, and this one, that I wonder if it's really worth it.  Then the end of the week comes and with the last of my strength I open my paycheck and realize,
No, it's not.
